Alyssa Caltabiano

Alyssa Caltabiano studied the art of dance under the watchful eye of her older sister, Danielle Cicogna for 20 years. With a mentor so close to home, she quickly grew to extraordinary lengths in the dance community. She was the recipient of Arizona’s Artistic Merit and Leadership Award, and has been recognized and awarded for her passion emoted through dance by top competitions in the business. Due to this, Alyssa was also a winner of a scholarship to dance in California with some of the largest names in the industry. While training extensively in all styles of dance, Alyssa also started to develop her passion for teaching. With over 15 years experience in the classroom, Alyssa has specialized in differentiating curriculum for all students regardless of ability level. Currently she is the Director of the Competition team here at Diamond Dance Works. Her choreography has led the team to numerous overall high scores, judges choice awards, and scholarships for her students. Alyssa owes her inspiration to her extensive education. She received her undergraduate degree in Physiology from the medical school at the University of Arizona. In order to pass this knowledge onto her students, Alyssa also received a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. She is Dance Masters of America certified in Jazz, and Dance Educators of America Certified. She is a state certified teacher in both dance and biology. She was the director of Peoria Dance Program for several years, where she had the opportunity to rebuild and rebrand the program. Throughout her collegiate career Alyssa Caltabiano was a member of Black N’ Blue Hip Hop Crew. With her crew she performed around the state, and battled other crews who have been on America’s Best Dance Crew. She was also a sideline dancer for one of the professional indoor soccer leagues in the state of Arizona. She has had the opportunity to perform in several large productions and tv specials. Alyssa is excited to see her sisters dream of owning a dance studio become a reality. She is looking forward to teaching every student that walks through the Diamond Dance Works door, and is eager to share with them a taste of what it is like to be part of our dance family!
